Kenton Juggling Cups
Kenton Juggling Cups: The Legacy Continues in Every Toss
Embrace the legacy of a juggling master with Kenton Juggling Cups. These cups are meticulously designed to carry forth Freddy Kenton's lifelong dedication to one of his signature tricks: shaker cup juggling. Crafted from high-quality plastic, these cups not only offer unparalleled durability but also produce a sound that's distinctively different from the jarring noise of traditional aluminum cups.
Craftsmanship Meets Performance
Freddy Kenton's inspiration stemmed from seeing the talents of Rudy Cardenas as a teenager in the 1950's. Driven by the desire to innovate, he returned from a circus tour in America to his home in Amsterdam where he started to collaborate with skilled craftsmen in shaping a unique design of cup. This hard-earned expertise was generously passed on to future legends of the cup juggling world, like Claudius Specht and Niels Duinker.
Historical Milestones
The journey of shaker cup juggling has been a storied one, tracing back to the Mexican performer Meneses in the 1920s. It gained traction with Rudy Cardenas, who modernized the technique, and thereafter it flourished in the hands of Freddy Kenton. And let's not overlook modern record-holders like Niels Duinker, who holds the world record for the most shaker cups thrown and caught, totaling an astonishing 14. These cups are now produced by Niels Duinker, through his product line NDjuggling.

Cigar Boxes
The Origin of the Moreira Juggling Box
A Tradition of Mastery and Innovation:
From early trailblazers like Cinquevalli to Salerno, juggling has a rich history featuring skilled practitioners. W.C. Fields, although renowned as an entertainer, was also a master of cigar box juggling. What if this long-standing juggling prop could be updated and improved?
Collaborative Innovation:
Albert Moreira, co-founder of the esteemed Los Gatos Trio and mentor to Albert Lucas Moreira, admired the discipline of "cigar box juggling" but was not fond of the traditional square cigar box design that was hard to grab. By engaging with top-tier jugglers like Bela Kremo, Francis Brunn and others, he accumulated a wealth of insights. This intellectual legacy was passed on to his son, Albert Lucas Moreira, celebrated for his "Albert Throws" and for hosting the annual Lucas Cup at the IJA World Championships.
Realizing the Vision:
Niels Duinker steps in, equipped with a background in mechanical engineering and a track record in producing juggling innovation, as exemplified by his Bottle Clubs and Cuphead 2.0. In collaboration with Albert Lucas Moreira and engineer Will Oltman, Niels brings a modern touch to this traditional prop. The outcome is the Moreira Juggling Box: an ergonomic, durable prop that opens new avenues in juggling technique.

The cup is optimized for 80mm ball shells. The club works excellently with any ball that is 80 mm (or smaller). For example, Kyiv-style balls, beanbags, stage balls, and hybrid balls. Use Kyiv-style balls for the best experience.
65% of the ball is visible when sitting in the cup. We have optimized visibility with the catchability of the ball in the cup. The shape of the cup allows the audience to see the ball clearly and to see them as two separate objects, even when the ball is in the cup.
The club's design allows it to stand up on the cup end easily.
In many instances, the club can also stand up vertically with its knob on the floor, with the cup end facing up.
The club can act as a prop stand for a ball due to a slight indentation of the knob.
A specially textured surface on the body of the club makes for easier gripping when not holding the handle.
A contrasting smooth finish on the inside of the cup and the indentation of the knob with a more excellent fit for catching balls.
Discreetly embossed logos of ND Juggling and Fourth Shape (Jay Gilligan's prop design company) to celebrate their collaboration with this club.
High-density plastic gives more outstanding durability vs. standard one-piece club plastics.
Two colors are available: Pantone 291 C (Ice Blue) and Pantone Warm Gray 5 C. These colors work great against either a light or dark background. The gray is a warm gray, which means it will not wash out to white under stage lights, and still pops against a black backdrop.
Option to tape the handle with any color for visual effect and grip preference
